David Bamber – Managing Director

After a triumphant performance on his A levels, David left Carmel college in 2001 joining Venmore Thomas & Jones as an Office Junior in the Prescot Branch.  

He soon progressed onto a sales negotiator at the Newton Le Willows branch, after spending 2 years working his way  'up the ladder '  holding positions such as Manager of the Newton office and Senior Manager at the St Helens office, and also being renowned as one of the best property valuers in the borough.

David joined John Brown and Company as Sales Director in April 2006  becoming the youngest director in the firms history.  In his first year as sales director David took the business from strength to strength and was quickly promoted to Managing Director in November 2007. Since  his appointment was David has been paramount in the re-branding of the Company,  the launch 's   of the new  Prescot office in July 2007 and the companies Conveyancing Department John brown Conveyancing in December 2006. David is currently in negotiations to launch an additional branch. 

David lives in Rainhill with his Partner , Vikki  and  baby daughter Maddison  who was born in May 2006.  They have been together since 2001  and enjoy holidays abroad, dining out and keeping fit.  David is also a huge adrenaline junkie raising money for charity in 2005 by leaping 40,000 feet from a plane in his first tandem parachute jump.   


Julie Colvin  – Customer Service Director

Julie became a member of the John Brown family following their seperation from  Venmore’s in April 2006. After establishing and running an incredibly successful sale progression unit at Venmore’s for a number of years, Julie is officially the longest serving employee of the company with almost 20 years Service.

Since  the launch  of the Sales Progression Unit and Admin centre, collectively known as The Customer Service Centre, aborted sale rates have fallen below 10% compared to the national average of 25%,  principally down  to Julie’s incredible  negotiation  skills and meticulous attention to detail. 

Julie is based  in  the John Brown Rainhill Branch and also lives in the village; she loves to travel and enjoys  spending time with husband John.

Alexandra Chialton – Commercial and Lettings Director

Born and raised in Liverpool, Alexandra, less formally known as Alex, joined John Brown in September 2006 as a part time lettings co-ordinator. It was in the November of that same year that she graduated from Liverpool University last year with a BSc (Hons) is Geography.

It was clear from the onset Alex was destined for bigger and better things, and, when a Lettings Manager vacancy arose she was swiftly promoted to the position.  Transforming the department beyond recognition, Alex was appointment to Commercial & Lettings Director on November 1st 2007. 

Alex is best described as the office “geek”, and loves sightseeing, and studying. She enjoys socialising, and having managed restaurants and bars before joining John Brown and Company, her network of friends is vast. Alex used to be heavily involved with volunteer schemes, such as Edmund Rice Youth. A charitable organisation set up by the Christian Brothers. She has travelled to Lourdes helping disabled children, and has played a key role in the development of Edmund Rice Summer Camps, set up for children from a poor social and income background. It was in 2000, Alex was awarded with the Brother Ambrose Cup for her service in the community, which also included helping the Missionary Sisters of Seel Street Liverpool, feed the homeless, and act as a teaching assistant in Rowan Park special needs School.

Following the success of the department and outgrowing the St Helens office Alex is busy sourcing premises for the launch of a dedicated Lettings Management and Commercial Centre in the booming City of Liverpool, due to open in early 2008 coinciding with the City becoming European Capital of Culture
